Starting with the left-most menu, BigPicture offers a great find utility. Select a single image in either list or icon view and you can use the select drop-down menu to select other images that share a common criterion, such as the same format or the same picture status. This feature is absolutely invaluable when you need to find everything of something.

When you have a picture selected, you may update the status of that image if the status is currently any other setting than OK. When the status is missing, however, a dialogue appears which allows you to locate it and reestablish the link. Also from this dialogue box, you may optionally choose to update all occurrences of the same picture used throughout the document.

After updating the links for a missing picture, BigPicture runs a process to check for other missing pictures that may be located in the folder of the updated link. If so, you may update those links as well.

If you choose the update all modified pictures option, every picture in the document with a modified status will be updated — and a total count provided — without individual user intervention.

The link menu provides three robust options: replace images, unlink images, and link to a folder of images.

Using the appropriately named option, you may replace a picture with a completely different picture — regardless of current status — while optionally retaining the previously defined picture attributes. You may also replace all occurrences of the picture contained within the document (retaining the individually set attributes of each).
